So cool and classy, you can showcase the minty hues in modern, vintage, or classic styled celebrations. It can be your main color throb or a fresh accent. Coming soon to L+K

20130408-185656.jpg

Hello Lovelies!

We here at Lambs & Kings are always evolving and we want the blog to evolve with us. We are always trying to think of ways to improve, go bigger and stay relevant to “where we are” currently.

Soo…What’s up with us and What’s coming up on L+K?

Being a new Mommy certainly has contributed to my lack of time here on the blog not just b/c of time constraints but also because I wanted to be able to bring my A-game if I was to continue blogging, not just posting just to post…and juggling my time with baby Myles. The time off, gave me time to think about what I want to add to the blog and how I can make it include the biggest and newest portion of my lifestyle…which is being a mommy. Also I had to reconsider, how to juggle the blog, baby, home, and work (which I am starting next week! yikes!) so I came up with a plan that I think will make it fun for readers…give you something to look forward to… and give us the time we need to keep all our juggling balls in the air.

  • Monthly Themes / Weekly Posts: Each month we will have a theme (ex: diy, fashion, food, travel etc) and we will post on that topic once a week (every Thurs/Fri)
  • Weekly Wardrobe Roundup: I love experimenting with my wardrobe for work and for weekending. My goal is to do a roundup of my favorite wardrobe highlights from the week
  • Product Reviews: I love trying out new products for different things and I want to share my thoughts with you in case some of you out there are interested in trying out the same products. Products will vary from: baby gear, beauty products, food! If you have a product that you would like me to try and review, contact me.
  • Interviews: There are a lot of people that are an inspiration to me and they play a big fueling part to what and why I do this blog. Some of you may even know these individuals and if you are like me, I always wonder what its like to be them and pick their brain a little bit.

So what do you think? I hope you are just as excited as I am about these changes…let me know if you have any suggestions or if you would like to see something here on the blog.

xoxo

Summer Summer Summer Time!

Well Summer is officially here! Thank Gawd b/c I was slumping in the fact that I still had to wear leggings and boots every so often. I have put away all my bulky winter / fall stuff and spread out my dresses….These images definitely conjure up the fun in the sun feeling with lively colors, warm summer nights, glitzy golds and that burnt orange leather….and we must not forget the Popsicles!!

We have some weddings to work, some weddings to attend, baby showers galor, and lots and lots of travel!! Next post will be on that!! Cant wait!

What are your summer plans?

A 1920’s wedding: Joann+Jon

Todays wedding is from the talented photog duo of Paco & Betty . They Shot the wedding of Joann and John, which was dripping with 1920’s dreaminess…and their photography skills definitely added to the effect. With Nestledown, in the Santa Cruz Mtns set as the backdrop to their nuptials, Joann and Jon said “i do” amongst family, friends, towering trees, and an amazing amount of well thought out detail that just made for a perfect event.

Little vignettes showcasing the couples love for vintage and antiques, according to Green Wedding shoes

gorgeous facilities and backdrop at Nestledown

Seriously, what is not to love about their wedding?! The fashion was impeccable and I especially love the newspaper boys handing out their newspaper programs (How Genius…and fitting). Her Monique Lhuillier dress is totally gorgeous and fits her an their event to a T.

All their details are so effortlessly amazing, from their vintage antique vignettes, to wooden menu boards, carved wood centerpiece holders, succulents, perfectly executed dessert table, and super cute table numbers.

Not to mention their photography!!! apparently, there is video coming as well…cant wait Paco and Betty!! Believe it or not, there are more amazing photos not featured here. Head on over to their site to see their full spread!

Congrats to Joann and Jon…Here’s to a great life together and…Thanks for putting on such a beautiful wedding and inspiring all of us!!

Also a great thanks to Green Wedding Shoes for the wedding details!!

What we love: Little Details

1. Felt flowers

I love all the new alternative Bouquet Ideas I have been seeing. The last post was on vintage brooch bouquets but here are some made out of felt flowers…they are so adorable. YOu can also choose to wear a collection of these in your hair…..did i mention this is a DIY project? check out the “how to” on the Brides Cafe Blog

2. Wicker

{The bride’s cafe}
These photos were part of a collection of photos from a wedding in Costa Rica. The wicker adds great texture to the setting and the decor of the event. It totally pulls together the beachy-ness of the style but its so versatile that you can play with it to make it match other themes and styles.

3. Lace Doilies

{Ruffled}
Especially when they are made into these cute little envelopes. Yet again, another DIY project. Check out the how to…here

4. Wooden Words

Not just any wooden words…these ones called “nuzzles”. I love the style and typography as well as how the letters are split into pieces and they link together like a puzzle.
From the Nuzzles website:
“Nuzzles™ are custom designed wooden typographic puzzles handcrafted by John Christenson since 2008, each with its own unique characteristics. Every Nuzzle is crafted from a single block of wood, and the characters interlock with each other in a way that creates a sense of harmony and integrity”

5. Pears

{style me pretty}
A different take on the “candied” apple. such lovely presentation as well.
6. Caligraphy flags
{Southern weddings Magazine}
I know, such a random and precise detail. but I seriously love these little suckers. They are so dainty and cute…adding a little playful-ness yet the calligraphy keeps it classy. Not to mention they make great markers or ways to label items as well as place holders. Instead of personalized napkins with your name and date, you can have straws such as these with flags, so they can go into every one’s drink.

Sugar & Spice Bridal Shower

Stumbled upon this gorgeous bridal shower party with a “Sweet & Spicy” Theme and an “oh so chic” presentation.
I love this theme…because you can give it many looks and totally have fun with it.
sweet? or spicy?
I did a mini inspiration board for a friend a while back who was thinking of throwing a “sugar & spice” shower…same idea…but she wanted to go with the more burlesque bold look so this is what I came up with. Its a very versatile theme =) . This one has the “sweet” with the pink, the graceful roses, the candy, sweet treats, and other playful details. The spicy comes into play with the black other dark and sexy colors, sexy heels, the lingerie…it would be cool to make the bridal gift theme “lingerie” to add more spice to the party.
